Job Summary
The primary responsibility is to consistently maintain all warehouses, coordinate and manage clearing and forwarding process, order generation and inventory management/replenishment modelling as well as inbound and outbound logistics both with cross board and domestic haulage suppliers. Role requires ongoing communication and coordination with regional teams, identification and optimization of most cost effective distribution strategy that meets corporate goals and is in line with the annual business plan objectives. Additional responsibilities include formulating warehouse & logistics policies and standard operating procedures (SOP’s) for all warehouses and ensure that all warehouses are well maintained and operated within budgeted KPI’s. The position works closely with all business unit managers and sales team to ensure that finished goods are available at all times and distributed well within company norms.
SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Inventory & Logistics Specialist
· To ensure the proper storage norms are laid out and executed efficiently.
· To schedule the weekly Preventive maintenance plan for all company owned vehicles and ensure proper execution
· To ensure that vehicle maintenance and repairs operates efficiently and at least cost.
· Ensure maximum UPTIME of all vehicles
· To ensure breakdowns are attended to in shortest possible time
· To conduct weekly meeting with all warehouse supervisors to review KPI and CAP is made and followed up
· To co-ordinate with Imports and ensure that all stocks are well maintained and quality/product integrity is checked
· To ensure that dispatch plans are received from sales department and ensure that 98% service level is maintained.
· To ensure budgeted manning levels are maintained and adjusted based on seasonal requirement.
· Ensure accurate product inventory
· Develop an inventory tracking system to streamline our business operations
· Communicate with warehouse supervisors about current stock and potential issues with orders
· Conduct daily analyses to forecast potential inventory issues
· Report on inventory activities and variances
· Assess new inventory to ensure it is ready for shipping or delivery
· Develop and implement inventory control procedures and best practices
· Establish and manage transporter relationships
· Ensure minimum cost KPI is established and maintained
QUALITY & SAFETY COMPLIANCE
· Follow the 5S approach regularly.
· Ensure FIFO in place, 100% for all finished goods
· Ensure Good Warehousing Practices (GWP)
· Ensure that all safety norms are fully implemented and followed at all times.
DOCUMENTATION & REPORTS
· Weekly & Monthly KPI report
· Daily Stock Reporting
· Weekly Operation Review
· Kaizen Project Implementation and Performance Measurement
TRAINING
· To train the team on Good Warehousing Practices
· To train the team on Inventory management

JOB SPECIFICATIONS
MINIMUM EDUCATION : Diploma or Graduate Degree in Materials management or equivalent.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE : 5-10 years’ experience in inventory & logistics function in a large scale FMCG manufacturing industry in a managerial level.
SPECIAL SKILLS & ABILITIES
· Must have sound skills managing large SKU based warehousing and logistic operation.
· Must have a strong acumen for system driven approach.
· Much have a strong understanding of Stock control process
· Must have hands-on experience on all inventory management process and logistics
· Must be strong understanding of overall management systems.
· Must have strong inventory management skills.
· Must have worked in ERP environment.
