AKF Tanzania invites applications from qualified and dynamic candidates for the position of Human Resources Manager
based in Dar-es-Salaam and reporting to the Country Director. The successful candidate will be part of AKF Tanzania’s
core team with an exciting opportunity to provide support to AKF Tanzania in recruiting, mentoring and managing a
highly competent, motivated, cohesive and performance driven team. The HR Manager will be responsible for
implementation of AKF(EA) human resource policy and procedures, as well as compliance with labour laws;
development and implementation of human resource plans including resourcing and contract management, performance
management system, and management of HR database to ensure the HR Department delivers integrated services, and
guarantee a diverse and skilled workforce meet AKF’s programming and operations needs.

Ensure that performance reviews are conducted regularly by supervisors in alignment with organizational goals;

Design and ensure induction for all new AKF EA staff, Interns and fellows, and support line managers to carry

Ensure the HRMIS system is appropriately, updated and utilised in a timely and accurate manner. This includes setting up new starters, terminating leavers, amending personal details, updating contract information, inputting performance ratings, training information and absence
Be the point of contact for all country office HR MIS users regarding system issues, queries and enhancements
Maintain confidentiality in respect of all staff records whether manual or computer maintained and ensure that all records are held securely
Liaising with the IT Department for technical support and updates regarding the HR MIS

A master’s degree in Management, human resources management, social or business studies.
At least 5 years’ relevant work experience with a successful track record. Experience in a development organization will be an advantage.
Good knowledge and experience of generalist HR issues, including Tanzania Labour Law, recruitment and selection, interpretation and application of policies and procedures, restructuring, reward and employee relations
Experience in managing staff located in multi-locations within a multi-component development programme.
Excellent communication skills (Verbal and Written in English and Kiswahili), with the ability to provide clear effective advice on a range of HR issues
Experience with the implementation and management of HR Information Management Systems.
Strong organizational skills with exceptional multi-tasking abilities
