POSITION OBJECTIVE:
This position is responsible for the overall operations of a number
of See’s Retail locations (as defined by Region) to ensure that
personnel, product, and facilities are managed in accordance with
established corporate philosophy and procedures in Customer Service,
Sales and Profit Goal Achievement Quality, Safety, Merchandising, and
Cost Containment.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Directly responsible for the supervision and development of
District Sales Managers (DSMs) including selection, staffing, training
and development, performance management and evaluation and progressive
disciplinary action when needed.
2. Indirectly, and when appropriate, directly responsible for
assigned shop personnel including recruitment selection, staffing,
training and development, performance management and evaluation, and
disciplinary action. When appropriate, managing in accordance with the
Union contract(s).
3. Provides District Sales Managers with territory sales goals and
assists in motivating Shop personnel to achieve sales goals and increase
sales volume through development and implementation of sales programs
and other incentives.
4. Communicates and coordinates with DSMs regarding issues pertaining
to customer service and cash handling, including investigation of
losses; compiling information and advising Divisional Sales Manager of
suggested action. Reviews and consults with DSMs and Human Resources on
disciplinary action.
5. Monitors department budgets including dollar sales, pounds, hours and expenses and works with DSMs to achieve results.
6. Coordinates with other departments for the successful attainment
of operational goals including Human Resources, PSG, Real Estate, and
Shop Maintenance.
7. Conducts shop visits with DSMs to insure consistent application of
procedures in Customer Service, Shop Operations, Safety, visual
merchandising, and performance management.
8. Completes administrative paperwork and reports. Communicates results and insures appropriate follow up.
9. Provides leadership for See’s Safety Program; oversees DSM involvement with safety activities and projects.
10. Assists in the development of employee/DSM training programs, new
policies and procedures, and consistent department documentation.
11. Assists Retail Sales Manager with special projects as needed.
