The Data Scientist Intern will work on the Data & Analytics team. We are looking for an individual pursing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related major. Below is a summary of duties that an intern can expect to perform while working with their mentor this summer at HMS.
This role will take one or more existing business processes and apply Data Science techniques and machine learning to either match or improve the current performance. The intern will need to collaborate with stakeholders to understand the process and desired improvements. While the heavy data engineering work will already be done, this job will require some data wrangling and feature engineering to prepare for machine learning. Once a model has been selected, the rationale for the decision and the model itself will need to be explained to business stakeholders.
