We are a not-for-profit organization dedicated to helping women across Africa by making child birth safe. We support local communities, providing information to keep mothers and babies healthy, as well as excellent medical care and training to ensure safer deliveries. We also treat birth-induced injury such as obstetric fistula.
We are looking to hire a person with the skills, experience, knowledge and exceptional work ethics to provide crucial security services at Maternity Africa.
Job Responsibilities
• Protect company’s property and people on the company’s premises by maintaining a safe and secure environment
• Observe for signs of crime or disorder and investigate disturbances
• Act lawfully in direct defence of life or property
• Report in detail any suspicious incidents
• Patrol randomly or regularly building and perimeter
• Monitor and control access at building entrances and vehicle gates
• Watch alarm systems or video cameras and operate detecting/emergency equipment
• Checks any and all bags for suspicious or prohibited items
• Keeps a log of all visitor
• Takes care of any parking issues
• Monitoring that all staff record their entrance/reporting and exit at work with the attendance devices.
• Ready to take up on any other duties assigned by the supervisor and job rotation covers.
Requirements
• Proven work experience as a security guard or relevant position
• Certificate of training in security.
• Ability to operate detecting systems and emergency equipment
• Excellent knowledge of public safety and security procedures/protocols
• Surveillance skills and detail orientation
• Integrity and professionalism
• Excellent communication and Interpersonal skills
• Willingness and ability to work to a flexible roster 12 hours a day
• High school degree
