Description
Position: Logistics Officer (1 position)Reporting to:Senior Operations Manager
Duty Station: Kibondo
Responsibilities
Specific duties
- Ensures items are stored appropriately and maintain the stores in good order
- Implement and direct IRC standard vehicle policies and procedures with particular attention to safety and security issues.
- Evaluate, manage and monitor drivers all the time; ensuring vehicles required on-board documentations are up to date and kept in the vehicles.
- Ensure the correct and timely routine maintenance and repair of IRC vehicles and generators.
- Carry out regular training to all drivers on basic mechanic skills, daily vehicle inspection, drills on safety driving, defensive driving, use of communication equipment, etc.
- Keep accurate and up to date records of all vehicles and generators, like insurance, service schedule, running fuel consumption, etc.
- Assist the Procurement officer on procurement duties
- Ensure vehicles and generators are highly secured and report immediately any security incidence including accidents involving IRC vehicles or generators.
- Prepare and submit on timely and accuracy manner weekly and monthly transport, vehicle and generator’s running report and share it with Senior Operations Manager.
- Report all vehicle incidents and accidents on timely manner to the Senior Operations Manager
- Advanced Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Transport Management or Automotive Engineering.
- Minimum 2 year’s working experience as Fleet or Transport Officer, 1 year working experience in refugee setting with NGO, 1 year computer literacy in transport data base and 1 year experience in supply chain functions.
- Certificate in auto mechanics with experience in managing a motor vehicle garage “is an added advantage”
