INTRODUCTION
The Tanzania Meat Company Limited (TMC) jointly owned by M/S National Investment Company Ltd (NICOL) and the National Ranching Company Limited (NARCO) is a Meat Processing and Marketing Enterprise currently based in Dodoma with out reach in the whole country and some markets in the Middle East.
Its operational assets include a modern Abattoir situated at Kizota- Dodoma.
It set, through its strategic plan, to scale up its operations in meat processing and production of high value meat produces for local and international markets as well as expanding and upgrading its linkages with producers and suppliers of upgraded live animals and selling in both local and international markets.
It thus in the process of strengthen its Human Resources capabilities through recruitment key staff members.

VACANCY FOR THE POSITION OF GENERAL MANAGER.
The Company (TMC) wishes to employ a qualified and Competent Tanzanian as its Chief Executive Officer – General Manager to provide overall professional and managerial leadership in the TMC along the Terms of Reference summarized below and incompliance with the direction provided by the Board of Directors of the Company.
Summary of the Terms of Reference
To assume Responsibilities of the Chief Executive Officer of the Company as describe in the Memorandum and Articles of Association of the TMC, the Company’s Operational Manual, Financial Regulations, Handbook of Staff Regulations, Handbook of Production Management, as well as directives issued by the Board and Statutory Authorities.
To assume fully responsibilities of day to day overall management of the Affairs of the Company including but not limited to, preparation of periodic Business Plans Implementation Guidelines and Budget, supervision of implementation and preparation as well as submission of periodic Progress Reports.
To ensure that appropriate Management Information Systems are prepared and institutionalized to facilitate Good Governance and preparation of Statutory Reports notably Audited Annual Financial Statements and Accounts as well as Reports that are submitted to the Board of Directors, Shareholders and Statutory Regulators.
To lead and supervise the Preparation of periodic Departmental Production Plans for the implementation of the Annual Business plan and subsequently supervise the preparation of Progress Reports which form the basis of the Company’s quarterly, semiannual and annual Progress Reports submitted to the Board of Directors.
To assume overall responsibilities in accessing and ensuring appropriate utilization of resources (finance, personnel fixed assets etc) necessary for the operations of the Company’s Business Plan in line with the approved Strategic Plan.
To perform the duties of the Secretary to the Board of Directors.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Academic and professional qualifications
A University degree in any of the following disciplines:
Food Processing with bias in Meat Processing.
Commerce with a bias a Business Administration/Accountancy or Marketing.
Postgraduate Qualification in Food Processing (Meat) and marketing is an added advantage.

Experience:
At least 8 years post qualification working experience in reputable Food Processing and or Marketing Enterprise, three of which must be at Managerial position.
ADDITIONAL COMPETENCES
Computer literacy
Capacity to communicate effectively in English and Kiswahili.
Working knowledge in Finance Management, Production Planning, Marketing of meat and allied products, Human Resources Management and Assets Management (operation and maintenance of production equipment and machinery)
Working knowledge of Laws of Contract (foreign and local)
Capacity to develop and sustain interpersonal relationships in business development and operations.
Capacity to communicate effectively in English and Kiswahili.
