Main Responsibilities
The Project Officer in charge of the financial sector will develop, overview and manage our client's portfolio with the banking industry, the private sector and with public entities benefiting from non-sovereign loans and guarantees in Tanzania.
· He/She will work under the supervision of the Country representative and the Regional Director.
· He/She will closely work with the Project Manager based in Paris and will be as well in relation with other institutions of the Group especially with regional office in Nairobi.
During a transition period of six months, he or she will be in charge of a limited number of operations (Loan for Health Project, Budget support to Education Sector).
The position is located in Dar Es Salaam Office and the main part of the assignment will be in Dar ES Salaam; however some activities may require to travel within the country.
Qualifications RISK Management in Finance/ Banking
Requirements With at least 3 years of professional experience in audit, banking industry, transaction services, M&A or financial sector you speak French or are able to read in frenchand (and understand).
You also hold a Master's degree in Finance, Business administration, Economics, Accounting, Statistics or related discipline and have experienced your knowledge of Risk and Finance from Business Banking or Corporate Finance.
This job requires STRONG FINANCIAL ANALYSIS, FINANCIAL MODELING AND RISK ASSESSMENT ABILITY. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted by our Senior Consultant.

Job Experience
The key responsibilities will be (inter-alia)
1. Follow-up on and monitor our client's non sovereign loans and guarantee portfolio
- Follow-up on the performance and risk of the portfolio
- Conduct and prepare financial and business analysis of our counterparts
- Follow up on and monitor operations, including implementation and repayment of loans;
- Assisting in the handling of correspondence to borrowers, co-financiers and other stakeholders;
- Ensure quality control, update and compliance with their internal policies and procedures.
2. Development of portfolio and deal generation in assigned sector;
- Develop a strong pipeline or deal flow of projects financed through non-sovereign Loans and/or guarantees that meet their financing criteria
- Support, contribute to the commercial development and appraisal process
- Conduct industry, market and company research;
Analyze financial statements, conduct business assessment, financial analysis, KYC checks,
- Write Identification Note on potential projects,
- Draft Letters of Interest and Term Sheets…
3. Sector dialogue and communication;
- Periodic update of our client's Strategy on the financial sector in Tanzania and on the use of non-sovereign loans and guarantee for other sectors
- Prepare project-related documents for internal and external audiences;
- Present financial tools dedicated to financial sector and prepare project related documents for internal and external audiences
Participation to Donor and stakeholders meetings related to the sector
This is not an exhaustive list and the post holder will be expected to undertake other duties as may reasonably be required to meet the changing needs of the business.
