Description
EFC Tanzania is a Microfinance Bank that provides financial services
i.e. taking deposits and providing loans to micro, small and
medium-sized enterprises and individuals. The bank is growing fast with
the focus of reaching out to the unbanked business by growing its
network throughout Tanzania in the coming years. To accomplish this, the
bank needs to recruit Receptionist who is competent, analytical,
experienced and hardworking individuals determined to go extra mile for
their career growth and future.
It is the primary objective of the Receptionist to perform basic office functions including conducting business with EFC customers in a responsible, positive manner. The Receptionist is accountable to provide customer reception and general secretarial service in a knowledgeable and professional manner
• Maintain a filing system for the correspondence and files of the EFC;
• Provide administrative support as required;
• Maintain a clean and orderly working environment at all times;
• Complete or transcribe EFC monthly reports as required;
• Perform other functions consistent with available skills.
Other tasks and responsibilities that will enable the fulfilment of the above noted responsibilities include:
• Ensure that magazines, reports, newspapers and marketing materials in the reception area are neatly placed and that the area is tidy and well kept;
• Greet and direct visitors and customers with respect and courtesy and give them appropriate information concerning the EFC;
• Receive and redirect phone calls as required or provide the requested information directly;
• Take messages when the requested person is absent and ensure the message is delivered/received;
• Organize and maintain a filing system for mail, reports, memorandums and files of the EFC;
• Receive, distribute and despatch mail as required;
• Prepare written correspondence and memorandums as required and check work for typographical or spelling errors;
• Support various operations related to the security of the premises, equipment and valuables;
• Ensure proper copying procedures including ordering and stocking of supplies;
• Verify that lights, air-conditioning, and any other electrical equipment are turned off and windows are closed at the end of each working day;
• Contribute to the development and preservation of a collaborative working environment with all EFC personnel;
• Performance of any other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
• College Diploma in Business related studies;
• A minimum of one year of related experience;
• Good knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures;
• Good knowledge of computers and relevant software applications;
• Good knowledge of customer service principles and practices;
• Very good keyboard skills (i.e. minimum 45 wpm);
• Strong people / relationship skills with a customer service orientation;
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.

Qualifications & Requirements (i.e. education, skills and experience)
The Receptionist should have good practical knowledge of operations in the financial services sector and the foresight to see how the intricate day-to-day activities link with and support the achievement of the vision and mission of EFC. In this regard, specific qualifications and requirements include:• College Diploma in Business related studies;
