The Ministry of Lands, Housing and Human Settlements Development (MLHHSD) with the support from the UK Department for lnternational Development (DFID), Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) and Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA) is implementing a three-year Land Tenure Support Programme (LTSP), which focuses' on land tenure regularization, enhancement of land sector transparency, promotion of large scate investment and policy and institutional development in Kilombero, Ulanga and Malinyi Districts in Morogoro Region.
The Ministry is seeking to recruit highly qualified and motivated
Tanzanians to fill vacant position
Communication Specialist( One Post)
Duty Station: Dar Es Salaam Responsible and Reporting to the Programme Coordinator of Land Tenure Support Programme
The Communication Specialist will be responsible to:-
i. Sensitization and awareness raising campaigns of the Proqramrne at local community and national levels.
ii. Assist with development of land awareness materials,
iii. Elaborate and implement the communication strategy of the Programme
iv. Develop media relations and come up with, strategies to promote the Programme and create awareness at the Villages, Districts and National level.
v. Responsible for 'the production of the Programme's communication materials
vi. Copyedit, proof read, and revise communication materials for publishing, disseminating and printing
vii. Prepare press releases, case studies, material for articles and Programmes and speaking proposals for media houses
viii. Establish and maintain journalist database together with other key stakeholders for information sharing,
ix. Advocate and campaign of the achievement of LTSP goals,
x. Manage information related to the programmed activities,
xi. Organize meeting and writing minute of the Programme meetings activities and sessions, and .
xii. Monthly maintenance and update the Programme web site
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
• A Bachelor degree in Mass Communication from the recognized University. Master's degree will be an added advantage
• Good understanding of land tenure and Land administration and management,
• At least 4 years of relevant experience,
• Experience with community outreach Programme and public relations, and
• Proven experience- in -helping development Programmes in achieving tangible results and benefits,
• Fluency in Swahili and English.
