Description
Internews Boresha Habari (Media and Civil Society Strengthening) project aims to support an open and inclusive environment for media and civils society to provide accurate and impartial information which will promote responsibility and accountability. The project will deal with engagement of women and youth so that their voices are heard for positive change. It also aims to create an environment where there is more freedom of expression and free flow of information.
Internews is seeking to recruit a videographer who will work collaboratively with Internews team and its partners to film, edit and share a broad range of video/ audio projects.
Responsibilities:
Content Production
Film and edit content for public service announcements, short documentaries (video and audio).
Concept and develop creative content to support the work of Internews and its partners
Work collaboratively with partners on video, audio, and motion graphic production - including conception, storyboarding, planning, shooting, editing, compression and encoding of videos, and digital asset management.
Contribute to creative solutions, production scheduling, location selection, coordination, and delivery.
Social Media
  • Edit, create and post written and visual content on Internews’ main social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, WhatsApp, YouTube).
  • Contribute content to the Internews main website
  • Collaborate with colleagues and partners to develop, create, execute and promote social media content
  • Consistently employ best practices in social media marketing and mentor partners in adopting social media practices.
  • Collect and provide regular reports on data analytics
Education & Experience / Certifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Radio/TV, Film, Fine Arts or related area AND one year experience operating video cameras and editing equipment; OR, Five years experience operating video cameras and editing equipment; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
  • Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite or Final Cut Pro
  • Proficient with DSLR and other digital cameras
  • Strong creative mind and storytelling skills.
  • Ability to explain and present creative ideas to Internews, its funders and partners
  • Demonstrated core understanding of social media marketing principles
  • Experience video storyboarding and script writing
  • Working knowledge of social media dashboard tools, a plus
  • Must be team-oriented, able to work in fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent grammar, punctuation and spelling
  • Experience in Social Media presences (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, WhatsApp, Google Plus)
  • Demonstrated ability to stay current with technology trends, evaluating applicable technologies for use within the organization.
Flexibility with travel.
