We are looking for
someone with construction industry training, hands-on construction
experience and some supervisory or managerial experience, for a Senior
Technical Support position in Manchester. The role is to provide a
Technical support service to both internal company personnel and
external customers. The salary is £25-30k per annum depending on
experience, with 21 days holidays plus statutory, performance related
bonus and stakeholder pension.
Working as the successful Senior Technical Officer, it is essential that you have:
*Construction industry training (Apprenticeship, HNC, HND or equivalent experience).
*Some managerial or supervisory experience managing a team, on-site or office based.
*Mechanical, M&E or ventilation experience would be an advantage, but is NOT essential.
*The ability to read drawings/plans and to do material take-offs.
*Experience of giving technical construction advice either by telephone, face-to-face or on-site.
*IT skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, etc).
*Current Driving License (there will be one or two days per week training at another location using a pool car, hire car or equivalent).
*Customer service focus with the ability to be methodical, confident and calm under pressure.
You may have gained construction experience on-site, but now be looking for something office based? If you have project management or project engineering experience at some point in your career this could be helpful, but is NOT essential.
It is NOT essential, but would however be an advantage if your experience also includes:
*CAD skills.
*Customer service experience.
