About the Client
The client is a medium sized company producing top quality table eggs based in Arusha. The goal is to become the leading supplier of table quality eggs in East African region. The target clientele comprises of institutional and retail customers in Arusha, Dar e Salaam and greater Tanzania. There are medium term plans to expand into the East African region.
Our client is looking for a dynamic, self-driven experienced sales manager who has a track record in the Fast Moving Commodities and Goods (FMCG) sector. Specific experience with perishable goods will be an added advantage. Reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with a supporting team in Production, Finance and Administration, this individual is expected to provide leadership in identifying target institutions, retail outlets among other clients, establishing relationships in those networks and facilitating long term agreements for the absorption of top quality table eggs.
The client is willing to offer an attractive package that combines a competitive retainer and bonus contract for the successful candidate.
This position is open to Tanzanian Nationals only.
ii. Structure and lead client meetings through initial contact, content development and brand representation;
iii. Work with production, finance and leadership teams to strengthen to increase sales;
iv. Monitor and forecast sales targets and ensure they are met through agreed sales strategies;
v. Close sales by building relationships with potential accounts;
vi. Identify trends in current business to retain and grow accounts;
vii. Effectively organize, manage and plans territory for efficient routing of outside sales calls.
Planning and Strategy
i. Work with the CEO to identify strategic clients in both institutional and retail as well as determine regional territories to operate under;
ii. Develop strategies to approach each category and territory of clients as developed in (i) above;
iii. Plan for uptake of table quality eggs by liaising with production projections and linking these with sales projections;
iv. Plan and manage for waste product and scrap value resale;
v. Developing and maintaining relevant networks with institutions, retailers and other small scale buyers to ensure targets are met;
vi. Undertake periodic market intelligence and research studies to identify new gaps and innovations that can be used to sell client products and services.
Sales and Marketing
i. Generate and quantify viable leads and provide weekly reports on pipeline status of the same;
ii. Demonstrate value of qualified leads and schedule prioritization on the same for acquisition;
iii. Undertake the prospecting process including developing proposals, making pitches and client interactions;
iv. Deliver and close deals that are successful post prospecting;
v. Liaise with production team to ensure consistency in sales delivery and quality management;
vi. Represent Organisational brand in all client phasing activities.
Finance and Administration
i. Ensure proper documentation of client information is maintained;
ii. Undertake due diligence on credit clients following financial management procedures;
iii. Ensuring that billing and collection are undertaken in timely fashion;
iv. Work with the finance team in ensuring organisation liquidity providing a link between client and the financial management team.
Performance Management
i. Monitor and track individual performance against Organisational and sales targets providing solutions for variations;
ii. Implement performance based sales management in tandem with set goals.
Relationships
i. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer;
ii. No direct reports to this position;
iii. Works with the Finance, Administration and Production Departments.
Key Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess the following qualities
i. Must be a Tanzanian National;
ii. Should hold an undergraduate degree in business, marketing or related field;
i. Minimum of 7 years’ experience in the FMCG sector with strong track record in sales in Tanzania, experience in the East African region is an added advantage;
ii. Demonstrate strong networks and working knowledge of Tanzania’s retail, institutional clients that would be clients for quality table eggs;
iii. Networks in the hospitality sector would be an added advantage;
iv. Strong ICT skills;
i. Strategic thinker;
ii. Strong analytical, reporting and presentation skills;
iii. Strong work ethic and a high level of personal integrity, self-motivation, and professionalism;
iv. Willingness to travel;
v. Able to work in a fast paced environment, manage time and priorities under pressure, and meet scheduled deadlines;
vi. Strong social and networking skills;
vii. Ability to work with other Organisational team members.
