The Job Developer is responsible
for indentifying local employers and building long term relationships
for the purposes of establishing internship, job opportunities and
facilitating job placement for training participants under select QCC
Continuing Education and Workforce Development programs.
Responsibilities will also include working directly with participants by
helping them develop job readiness skills and career exploration plan.
QCC’s job development approach is predicated on matching students'
skills and competencies with corresponding employment (and/or
internship) requirements, in support of meaningful careers related to
their areas of training.

- Direct Client Services: Promotes and develops employment and internship opportunities for program participants. Instructs applicants in resume writing, job search, and interviewing techniques. Follow-up with clients (retention after placement); collects, checks and records employment verification documents.
- Program Development: Develops and maintains employer accounts. Establishes and strengthens relationships with employers to fill needs for qualified workers. Also addresses problems, complaints, and progress of recently placed graduates and recommends corrective action if necessary.
- Communication: Informs businesses, community agencies, public agencies and public about QCC’s various training programs. Works closely with partners, fostering collaboration in obtaining employment and internship opportunities.
- Administrative: The Job Developer is responsible for reporting, collecting and completing all required paperwork pertaining to internship and job development outcomes. Assists in the design and development of strategies to facilitate bringing participants into job-ready status. Ensures applicants’ compliance with program requirements by obtaining necessary documentation. Prepares and presents statistical reports to management. Enters data into database.
- Other support: The Job Developer works closely with the rest of the Continuing Education and Workforce Development team in preparing participants for the job market, and provides ongoing support to ensure success under the department’s internship, placement, retention, and average wages outcome objectives.
- Reports to the Director of Workforce Development.
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Able to work independently, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, and work within a team environment with students, faculty and administrators.
- Professsional experience in the healthcare, technology or business sector preferred.
- 3 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Available for evening and occasional weekend hours.
