IOGT-NTO Movement is looking for a Programme Officer - Monitoring & Evaluation
IOGT-NTO is a Swedish organization aiming to contribute to a world free from the harmful consequences of alcohol considered obstacles to development. We operate through partner organizations in all five of the East African countries and support projects ranging from community based initiatives; information campaigns; and lobbying networks at a national and regional level.
To ensure that we continue to be at the absolute forefront of development cooperation we are looking to strengthen our regional office in Arusha with a Monitoring and Evaluation officer.
The work will consist of the following:
· Support and strengthen our partners’ work with tools for tracking and evaluating their projects
· Support and develop partners’ capacity in delivering high quality reports
· Ensure the quality of reports and evaluations within the Regional Office East Africa
· Represent the organization in relevant forums nationally and internationally
· Together with our offices around the world develop new and innovative M&E tools
· Assisting the Regional Representative in various matters
Work description might be slightly adjusted depending on the successful applicant’s specific qualifications.
So who are we looking for?
Minimum requirements
Tanzanian citizen
Bachelor degree in a relevant field
Extensive experience from working with monitoring and evaluation, research or similar issues
Good knowledge of quantitative AND qualitative research methods
Insight in and understanding of East African civil society
Understanding of the architecture of development cooperation
Excellent command of written and verbal English, and Kiswahili
Professional experience from creating proposals, following up results and reporting on donor funded projects
Interest in alcohol as an obstacle to development
Patience and interest in teaching; spreading insights; and knowledge sharing
Willingness to travel extensively throughout East Africa.
Desired requirements
Master degree in a relevant field
Certified training in M&E, LFA, RBM, or similar
Conversational French and/or other relevant regional language
Personal experience from professional or voluntary work within civil society
Experience from working with projects dealing with alcohol, public health, community development or similar.
The position is a semi-permanent contract, revised yearly. Placement is in Arusha.
We offer competitive salaries. Interviews will be held during April and the successful applicant will be expected to start in June 2017
