Our Client is seeking to hire a Technical Operations Coordinator to manage and oversee all aspects of technical operations within the company.
Job Description
Our Clients Company was registered in 2006 and specializes on being an Internet of Things (IoT) provider. In essence it started as a vehicle tracking company and has evolved to ‘track everything’. It has worked with vendors to integrate various components to deliver a finished product. The front end is a web-based software application through which customers can log-in and track their trucks. The company has specialized on serving the higher end long-haul transporting companies and continuously invests into R&D and product improvement so as to meet the requirements and expectations of the transporters. The company intends to diversify the bouquet of services available to cater to a broader audience with appropriate and valuable location based services and monitoring. The company seeks to recruit additional staff mentioned above and further detailed below. The character of the individual must be someone with a can-do positive outlook, have an appreciation for detail and analytics and must be someone who is methodic, thorough and articulate.
Overall Responsibility:
To manage and oversee all aspects of technical operations within the company, which involves new installations and service calls.
Detailed Responsibilities:
  1. To coordinate new installations and service calls. This entails, amongst others;
    • Ensuring having adequate inventory
    • Site surveys, where needed
    • Compiling the Bill of Materials (BoM) needed and ensuring that all materials are in place
    • Managing the schedules of the technical staff
    • Programming the units for installations where needed and configuring them on the online portal
    • Liaising with the Admin Executive for coordination with customer and having access to the vehicles/assets to be tracked
    • Ensure that all installations are done with the highest standards and workmanship acceptable
    • Visit sites regularly or check and supervise field staff and check on workmanship and standards
    • Conduct a training to the end user/customer on the system and how to use it
    • Getting final sign-off from customer for installations and support calls o Maintain agreed KPIs for turn-around time and quality of various jobs
  2. Keep an overview on inventory and constantly advice on replenishment
  3. To liaise directly with customers on on-going jobs as and when needed and ensure we maintain excellent relationship management and professional engagement etiquette while doing so
  4. Assist the technical team working in the field on any logistic or technical issues
  5. Assist the management on overall company strategy targets 6. Any other tasks that are delegated by the GM or members of the board.
The Skill Set:
  1. Technical capabilities in order to be able to manage the programming of various tracking devices and configuration of the online access portal
  2. People Management Skills in order to manage the technical team and generally get things done how you want and when you want
  3. Customer Relationship Skills in order to maintain our customer focus and maintain our core values
  4. Creativity and resourcefulness to always evolving and improving how we get things done and how we can do them faster
The Candidate
  1. Able to work with minimal supervision and high sense of responsibility and personal integrity
  2. Must be passionate, insanely aware of the product and the service we intend to deliver
  3. Must be energetic, have a positive outlook and be very creative
  4. Must be resourceful and innovative in overcoming challenges, a problem solver.
  5. Must be IT savvy and must understand basic concepts of the product and how it works
Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Business Management and a Master's degree would be an added advantage.
  2. Minimum of three years’ experience in a similar role.
  3. IT experience especially working with fleet tracking systems would also be a plus.
