Position Overview:
The Senior Sales Manager is responsible for driving acquisition and retention of customers, through building a strong sales culture among our sales force. The Senior Sales Manager is responsible for managing the company’s growth strategy to meet budget targets – including enhance agents’ productivity, provide coaching on sales techniques, monitor performance in a timely fashion, build a strong sales management team and performance culture and mobilise the right incentives and motivational techniques to boost agents’ morale.
The Senior Sales Manager will manage over a dozen of sales leaders, and indirectly manages over 200 sales agents.
Responsibilities:
  1. Drive high quality &quantity sales according to budget
  • Design and implement appropriate sales (and consumer education) techniques among sales team that lead to high productivity and quality
  • Contribute to sales strategy (product mix and product development, marketing and promotional campaigns, customer segmentation, up selling and bundle selling, consumer education)
  • Implement an appropriate incentive structure leading to strong sales culture and improved sales performance
  • Develop a short to long-term engagement strategy drawing on various motivational techniques and tools to engage agents and maintain high morale in the team throughout the day/week/month/year (competitions etc).
  • Ensure headcount stability and healthy ratio of active agents
  • Monitor and provide feedback on teams performance on an hourly, daily, weekly and monthly basis and seek to understand underlying causes and take actions to address underperformance
  1. Enforce discipline and routines
  • Implement robust systems to manage attendance, time-keeping and talk-time
  • Enforce Call Centre rules
  • Implement a zero tolerance policy on fraud
  • Design and institutionalise daily, weekly, monthly routines
  • Implement a zero tolerance policy on underperformance
  • Lead by example through demonstrating irreproachable professional ethic
  1. People Management: Supervise and coach the sales management team
  • Manage direct and indirect reports to deliver their tasks in an effective and timely fashion as per job descriptions.
  • Build the capacity of and continuously develop direct and indirect reports
  1. Reporting and analytics
  • Prepare various sales presentations and reports, analysing trends and drivers of performance.
  1. Build a strong team culture in line with company values (Give and earn respect, Take ownership, Think big start small) and customer promises (affordable, simple, caring, and trustworthy)
  2. Enforce company policies and processes
Academic qualifications
· Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or Communications preferred
Work experience & skills:
· 5+ years’ experience in sales
· Excellent sales techniques and ability to think strategically about customer acquisition and retention
· 5+ years of leadership track record in managing very large teams
· Excellent communication, interpersonal and management skills required
· Advanced conflict resolution skills required
· Ability to work overtime as necessary to meet budget and guide team
